At the 2011 New York Auto Show, staying connected while driving continues to be a growing trend for the auto industry as several automakers unveiled their versions of in-vehicle information systems. With hopes of taking infotainment to the next level, Buick announced IntelliLink. The new system uses Bluetooth or USB to connect the driver's smartphone to a 7- or 8-inch, high resolution, full-color touch screen display radio. Expanding on the current capabilities, it allows smartphone control via voice activation and steering wheel-mounted controls. It can also stream music from the phone through services like Pandora radio and Stitcher SmartRadi, as well as identify the driver's music collection from services like Gracenote. As a bonus, everything is voice controlled, meaning, you can keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road. IntelliLink will come standard in 2012 on Buick's Regal, LaCrosse and Verano and all models in 2013. Tags: Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.
